The Joseph Septet

The Joseph Septet is a contemporary jazz septet led by drummer, Noam Solomons-Wise, featuring some of the best student jazz musicians within the University of Cambridge. The Joseph Septet brings a unique sound to Cambridge with its exciting contemporary show-piece jazz.

Having performed as headliners at JazzSoc, Clare Jazz, The Portland Arms (CMP Gig Night), the closing party of Cambridge Jazz Festival 2022, and numerous college concerts including at Pembroke, Selwyn, Sidney Sussex, and Emmanuel Colleges, The Joseph Septet is an established name within the Cambridge jazz scene.

Taking influence originally from Tom Green’s septet and inspired further by many contemporary jazz composers, the Septet performs a set including music by Noam Solomons-Wise, Fin Waugh, Tom Green, Joris Posthumus, Misha Mullov-Abbado and further arrangements by Noam.

After their performance at Clare Jazz in February 2022 , Clare Jazz wrote: “The Joseph Septet are a highly talented group of young musicians bringing a unique, fresh sound to the Cambridge jazz scene. We got great feedback from the audience about their set. Would highly recommend!” – Clare Jazz review Feb 2022
