Cambridge University Wind Orchestra (CUWO)

Cambridge University Wind Orchestra (CUWO) is a friendly, high standard ensemble that performs a variety of repertoire that both stretches players and is fun to play – from concert band standards to film music and orchestral transcriptions. CUWO enjoys diverse repertoire with fun, weekly rehearsals and termly concerts.

CUWO provides an opportunity to meet people with similar interests from other courses and colleges, and explore fun repertoire. A sociable group, CUWO members often attend formals and other social events together.

CUWO rehearses every Thursday evening at the Faculty of Music and looks forward to welcoming former CUWO flautist and new conductor Ed Gertler to lead the ensemble this year. This term’s concert includes music ranging from Strauss’ Serenade for Wind Ensemble to music from the Mission Impossible and Pirates of the Caribbean.  Don’t miss your chance to join the University’s leading wind orchestra – CUWO will blow you away!

Audition applications should be received by 5 October, 12 noon.
