Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra Society (CUCOS) was founded in 2007 with the aims of giving a new musical perspective to communities in the UK, and sharing oriental music. The Society consists of a Chinese Instrument Division (CID) and a Western Instrument Division (WID).

As the only orchestra of its kind in Cambridge, we hold annual concerts featuring both traditional and contemporary Chinese music and classical Western music at the West Road Concert Hall. We have also given delightful performances at numerous recitals, the Chinese New Year ball, and the CSSA Gala.

Weekly rehearsals take place on Sunday 10.30am–12.30pm at Robinson College music room during term times. Michaelmas rehearsals will begin on 15 October and we welcome any musicians with some basic experience in Chinese or Western musical instruments, or any beginners interested in learning traditional Chinese instruments. There is no application or audition, just come along! Please bring your own instruments if you have them.

You can keep up to date with CUCOS on Instagram and Facebook.
