CUWO Varsity Concert 2024: Fusions!
For their first concert of 2024, CUWO combines with the Oxford University Wind Orchestra for the annual Varsity Concert extravaganza! Presenting an exhilarating and diverse programme on the theme of Fusions, the Orchestras will explore everything from classical essentials to jazz standards, film scores, and much more!
Under the baton of Ed Gertler (CUWO) and Maria Rowena Copley & Tom Bruges (OUWO), this innovative line-up includes such amalgamations and agglutinations as Porgy and Bess, Shostakovich Jazz Suite No. 2, West Side Story (Symphonic Dances & Mambo!), and the Mission Impossible theme. The concert will conclude with an epic combination of both Orchestras playing Gershwin’s iconic An American in Paris. What’s not to love!
